Computer-Aided Translation (CAT)
We utilize computer-aided translation (CAT) tools for the majority of our translation and proofreading work. CAT tools allow us to store a "translation memory"—or database—of your previous translations as well as maintain terminology and glossaries for future reference. As an advantage to you, key terminology is applied consistently throughout your documentation. Since repetitive segments of text need not be re-translated, you also receive a price discount for "matches" or repetitions!
TRADOS has is currently the most common CAT application and many of our customers provide us with pre-existing TRADOS memories. However, many other CAT tools exist and most are compatible with the TRADOS memory format.

File Formats & Layouting
We can handle a wide range of file formats including the following:
- Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint
- HTML / PHP
- ASCII (simple) text files
- Star / OpenOffice
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe FrameMaker (please inquire)
- Adobe PageMaker (please inquire)
When a translation is completed, it is often necessary to re-layout the document to accomodate the translated text. We can perform all of these services in-house.
Hardcopy
For documents only existing in paper form, we also offer translations and copy editing services. If you wish to have your text transcribed or scanned (OCR) into a computer file format, we can also do this for an additional fee.
Copy Editing and Style Guides
We offer proofreading and copy editing services in compliance with the norms set out in:
- Chicago Manual of Style
- Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications
